C&C Studio Founder/Owner Cris Franklin delivers space to “relax, play and thrive,” bringing her resort experience to bear in residential design. Her hospitality influence comes through in this amenity-filled, Atherton-area family home, where Cris wraps high activity areas with tranquil gathering spaces.
A Moderne design called for a light, simple stone selection with clean forms, found in Gascogne Blue Limestone Heritage Wash. Minding the overall circulation of the space, stone paving connects and creates a flow around the property, with pavers functioning as a transition point between the pool and thoughtfully tucked away pool house. Landscaped limestone, set in the lawn to create oversized stepping pads, softens the space. And the richness of Gascogne Blue serves as an added feature in the context of the broader design.
“Sandra has formed advantageous relationships with suppliers and sets a high bar in terms of process and delivery standards,” – Cris Franklin
Asked what she values most about working with Maiden Stone, Cris applauds the “extremely thorough order process, which is hard, as you’ve got one shot to get it right.” In an industry where suppliers are often forced to replace whole pieces of stone–causing major construction delays and expense–Maiden Stone shines. As Cris explains, “Sandra has formed advantageous relationships with suppliers and sets a high bar in terms of process and delivery standards,” adding that Maiden Stone is one of the only suppliers delivering pictures from the quarry, to help manage expectations of clients (whose tolerance for imperfections vary). Overall, Maiden Stone customers are happier, as they are less surprised when the stone arrives, which equates to a “big difference in quality,” she says.
And while successful business relationships and enjoyable people don’t always go hand-in-hand, “with Maiden Stone,” Cris attests, “you get it all.”

Stone Spotlight: Gascogne Blue Limestone Heritage Wash
A petite fossil structure and cool grey and beige tones combine to give Gascogne Blue Limestone understated sophistication. The monochromatic consistency of this gorgeous stone allows it to be used effortlessly and in both traditional and minimalist architectural applications.
