The collaboration with RIOS Home and Dusenbury Design left no detail unturned, marrying thoughtfully selected stone, wood and marble finishes throughout the lavish, open concept space.

Entertainment level highlights include a marble bar and lush terrace with pool/spa and firepit lounge. Motorized glass walls retract to reveal a continuous use of Aegean Limestone, creating synergy between indoors and out, all set to spectacular views.

The hillside home is also anchored by a unique, multi-dimensional stone wall, providing visual intrigue from the interior, and the backdrop for a cascading 15-foot waterfall on the exterior.

The textured stone, which guides water into a lower-level reflecting pool, enhances the natural feel of the courtyard in a way flat slabs would not. “When working with a naturally textured stone,” says RIOS’s Hiro Kamizono, “an even greater degree of thought and preparation is needed to develop, fabricate, and realize the design.”

This innovative design process is further detailed on RIOS’s website: Digital Tangibility: Incorporating Natural Texture into Design.

“The distinctive and modern architectural stone elements employed on this project really set the bar for sophistication, placing this property a step above the rest,” according to Maiden Stone’s Sandra Jonas Desguin.

As experts in bespoke application, Maiden Stone was proud to be that boundary-pushing partner. “The distinctive and modern architectural stone elements employed on this project really set the bar for sophistication, placing this property a step above the rest,” according to Maiden Stone’s Sandra Jonas Desguin.

Spotlight on Aegean Limestone

Aegean Limestone is dense, fossil rich and wonderfully active on an intimate scale yet consistent from piece to piece when installed. This limestone is suitable for a wide range of horizontal, vertical, and carved applications. The mottled blue, grey, and beige coloring and the variety of available finishes make Aegean an original and sophisticated alternative to traditional domestic bluestone. View product
